Can I fax from my computer?
I tried to fax once from my computer but it wouldnt let me. I opened up the fax wizard but had problems. I have Windows XP. Someone told me I might not be able to since I have a high speed cable connection through Comcast… is this true? Are there any FREE programs out there? Thanks

I don’t think that there are any free faxing services. There is a website called http://www.FaxCompare.com, and it compares all of the different kinds of internet fax services. There are some where you can simply pay a (very small) fee for each that you send/receive. PayPerFax is a great one for customers with your needs, but I don’t think you will find one that is free.

If you have a telephone modem attached to your computer you can. It doesn’t sound like you do.
I have not found any FREE programs out there that do this, through a broadband internet connection.
There should be a telephone modem on your computer.You need to connect a phone line to it to be able to use it though.It will tell you in device manager if you have one or not.If there is a yellow ? or ! beside it, you need to find drivers for it.Just look for modem in device manager,it will say data/fax modem if you can fax with it.
