Can I install a modem into my gateway laptop?
I was told that to get on the internet from my laptop I need to intall a modem. I have no clue what I’m doing. Please help.
Is there something I need to download onto my computer for the internet? I already have a wireless card.

depends how u wanna go on the net..
dial up , very slow
broadband , which what most ppl use.
in the box , did u get a cable to hook it to the phone?
normally on the right side or back, u will see 2 square holes.. one is wider, thats the network connector.. the other is the phone connector.
if you didn’t get a modem and REALLY wanna use dial up (i dunno why anyone would) you can probably get an external usb one, but u’d be better off getting broadband.
my desktop pc which i bought recently didn’t have a modem built in.
Buy one of those PCMCIA card modem, and plug it in. Software should come with it.
