Can I install an ADSL modem ‘behind’ a PBX box?
I am working overseas and the housing that is provided has set up an ADSL service, however; the house has a PBX on the phone line (so each room is an extension). If I put the the ADSL modem in a room (i.e. on an extension), will I be able to connect to the internet?

Simple answer is no the PBX will not pass the DSL line to extensions, they are on a different set of wires and are not connected directly to the inbound line. Therefore, no dsl will be on the extension lines.
You will need a "home run" drop in order to connect, this by passes the PBX for the connection.
The option you have is to connect the modem at the "Demarc" (the place where the inbound phone line is actually connected) then run ethernet to the location you want a router or computer to be setup.
