Can my new Acer Aspire T180 send and receive faxes?
I have a new Acer Aspire T180 with Windows Vista Home Basic. I used to be able to send and receive faxes with my old eMachines computer that had Windows XP. Does Vista have fax capability like XP? Do I have to install a Data/Fax Modem? I also have DSL. How can I, if at all possible, enable this new computer to send and receive faxes without having to go out and buy new peripherals?

check to see if you have a fax/modem in it. Control panel, system, device manager. click the plus sign near modems.
Most laptops do have a fax modem installed.
