can u use a fax machine with cable modem and no phone line?
We do not have a phone line no need really. cable modem and cell phones are better and cheaper then the phone services. but we need to send a fax so is it possible to use a fax machine via the internet with a cable modem? I dont want to go out and buy a new fax machine and find out i cant use it. thanks

Yes, you can send faxes with your cable modem connection but it will require special software unless your ISP offers internet fax capability.

cable modem line can’t be used for normal faxed. but you have other option, like internet faxes
You may be able to use an online fax service. I know they exist, but I have never used one. I don’t know what the restrictions might be or how it would work. The only other option would be to use an Internet phone service like Vonage.

No you can not send a fax with a cable modem, you need a phone line fax machines still use phone lines. Try going to fed-ex kinkos, or the UPS and i think even the US Post Office and you can send a fax from there for cheap
The fact of life is that you cannot send a fax through a cable or DSL or T1 line – you need a standard tone phone line. The old fashion telephone thingy you know?
Hmmm… you mean your home do not have an old fashion tone telephone line. No telefono at all!! Everybody’s’ running around speaking on their very own cellphones!!? Your brothers & sisters, mom and dad, grandpa and grandma too! That’s absolutely amazing!

OK! So you want to send a fax with what u got. You can do it this way if you have a laptop equipped with Bluetooth.
Compose your letter in MS Word and fax it via your Bluetooth cellphone if you got one. Your Bluetooth cellphone will then become your modem if it has that capability.
Another way – go visit an uncle who still prefer his old fashion telephone. Bring along your laptop (if u have one), plug in to the phone wall socket and fax from your laptop internal modem.
If the document to be faxed is an original copy, you can scan it into your computer as a Black/White image file. Insert it in MS Word and send as a fax.
One last way – bring along your document to any store that offers faxing service.
