Can you send faxes through yahoo mail?
If not is there any free service that does do faxes via the internet or email?

No, not through Yahoo. It would be a nice feature to add, wouldn’t it (if someone from Yahoo is listening). You can send and receive faxes through jfax.com, but only receiving to a local phone # is free. If you want to send or have a toll-free number, it costs money. I don’t know of any sites that currently allow sending for free.
