Send fax without modem Archives

RapidFax.com

I am using cable internet and telephone service and would like to find a fax program that i can use online without connecting a phone line to my computer modem.

my computer crashed and i had to restore system (Windows ME). Since then I cannot find the driver I need for my network card. My friend sold me the computer and she can’t find the disk that came with the network card. I can’t find the driver on the windows disks and i can’t connect to the internet without the driver. Can someone please help me? PLEASE!!!! All I know about the modem is that it is listed as CONEXANT PCI ETHERNET 56K ITU V.90 PCI FAX/MODEM. I called the company who made the computer (EMACHINES) and they told me that I have to have the disk that came with the network card but I don’t have the disk so what else can I do to recover the driver?

I have a HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP (COM3) to connect to a dial-up connection for my kids to use. My kids need to be able to use my computer, but I only want them to use the dial-up connection when I enter the password and monitor their use. I cannot get the connection to require a password.

When I set up the connection, I did not enter a username or password, just the phone #. But somehow it knows my computer on the network and logs on without any more info. Then I have tried deleting the number in the properties dialog so I have to reenter #.

I don’t have to fill in the password box-or even my username, it connects without putting anything in. I do not have the "Save this username and password" box checked.

In the properties window, I have checked the "prompt for name and password" option; under Security I have "Typical – Require secured password" and I have under Sharing, no options chosen to share anything.

Any ideas? Is this the SmartCard or network?

So it has a fax modem…does that mean I have to buy a fax machine,or can I set it up without one?

I use a cable modem and not a phone modem

I have a HP DV6000 laptop with Windows Vista 32-bit.

I want to know if I can delete Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartPC (I don’t use a fax machine, so I don’t think I need this. But just making sure.)

Also: Mouse Suite (came with computer), and Apple Software Update (I have Apple Quicktime, but don’t use it.)

Will it screw up my computer if I remove these? Thanks in advance.

hello all. I was wondering if anyone has used their wireless phone as a fax modem.. i need to know what equipment/features/options one would need to be able to send/receive fax’s without access to regular telephone line. I would like to know for at&t the carrier please. even if it means teathering to a fax machine physically. or any ways you may know how, thanks. all suggestions appreciated.

I have a new Acer Aspire T180 with Windows Vista Home Basic. I used to be able to send and receive faxes with my old eMachines computer that had Windows XP. Does Vista have fax capability like XP? Do I have to install a Data/Fax Modem? I also have DSL. How can I, if at all possible, enable this new computer to send and receive faxes without having to go out and buy new peripherals?

Sorry this is so long…

Hello. I bought a WIFIMAX from Datel a little while ago. I have spent days upon days trying to get this little booger to work…… Here is a list of my problems:

1. Wii will detect network adapter, but wont connect through internet (error code 52030: Cannot connect to the internet).
2. In the Zydas control hub, under ‘more setting…’, there is no option for my Dial-up modem in the Bridge Adapter drop-down box.

Ok. In regards to number 1, the Wii has 2 out of 3 bars signal strength, so that’s not the issue. In addition, it works fine until it does the ‘connection test’. That is when it tells me the adapter couldn’t connect the console to the internet.

In regards to number 2, I read someone else’s answer to this. They said to uninstall the Zydas drivers, make sure I am connected to the net, and reinstall to make the modem option under Bridge Adapter appear. It didnt work. Now, it just has a blank box for Bridge Adapter.
——————————————————–
PLEASE NOTE that I DO IN FACT have my modem set to share the network, so don’t give me that crap…I’ve already gotten far too much of that. The Firewall is also totally shut off.

The Zydas hub is also set correctly to Access Point mode. In addition, I have tried many different channels for the hotspot, too… I’m assuming my problem is with that Bridge Adapter thingy.

I have used the WifiMAX software to configure it, and It says it should work fine….

I am running:

ISP: Netzero HISpeed 3G
OS: Windows XP Service Pack 2
Modem: AC97 SoftV92 Data Fax Modem with SmartCP

Another factor might be that I am running Norton Antivirus, and I cant figure out how to shut it off without uninstalling it, so…..would that affect it? I’m just so fed up with this thing…

Before you go on a rant about Dial-up being suckily, I must say that broadband cable isn’t available out here in the sticks, and my parents are too cheap to get sattellite.

I have read posts from plenty of WifiMAX users saying that they use it with Dialup, so I know it works, somehow…

I really want wireless….really bad…..please help!!!

-A sad and confused nerd
REPLY TO USER: "u love meeee"

Routers won’t work with dial-up, will they?
MAJOR UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:

I found an FAQ for setting the WifiMAX up and Datel says that it is NOT compatible with ANY dial up connection because it wont show up in the bridge adapter box…

My question is, how did other users use dialup with it?!?!?

-__- I am just so sick of this thing…

The box said, "Turn ANY internet enabled computer into a Wifi Hotspot!".

Screw Datel’s false advertising…..

way to fax over the internet without using my dial up modem.

Using Win XP Home, What free software is best to use when faxing a MS Word doc from my computer without having to use my modem? If I use the built-in MS fax software, it will not send the fax unless I disconnect from the internet and allow it to dialup just to send the fax. Help please!

I do not have a landline phone line but I do have the internet on my computer via cable modem. How can I fax things using my fax machine? Can I hook the fax machine straight to the computer and it will work? Do I have to set something up a certain way?

I have a laptop with a wireless card for the internet and was interested in getting a printer/copier/scanner/fax…but without a traditional land-line I don’t know if it’s possible. My laptop has a 56k ITU V.92 fax/modem, but I’m not that technical so I don’t know how it relates.

I don’t want to have to use a modem. I want to be able to fax the same document to groups (broadcast). I would like it to be software based, not internet based or something that requires me to pay per page/month etc. Please Help!!

I have DSL.
I have a DSL modem and router, but do I need an internal modem or wireless card in the computer to connect to the Internet? Or will there still be a place to plug in the Ethernet cable into the computer?
