computer problem modem?
I recently installed a new dell data fax modem to connect to the internet via dial-up. It dials and connects me to the internet fine with my original internet connection. But when I am on the line, the modem knocks me off the internet connection and keeps trying to dial a dell connection. I have tried repeatedly to delete / remove the connection that the dell puts in my internet connection, but it will keep coming back. I have xp home edition, and do not know how to remove this from my computer permanently to keep it from knocking me off and trying to connect to an unusable dell connection. CAN YOU HELP

Under Control Panel, check Network Connections and if you find the Dell Connection, delete it. Also, set your Original ISP to the default connection. Then under the Connections tab in Internet Options, make sure that the Dell Connection is label as the default connection. To do that, select your ISP and then press the Set default button. Then make sure that the connection settings are set to Always dial my default connection.
