Do I have to remove a dial up modem in order to install a wireless router?
I just hooked up my old computer, and want it to have wireless internet. Now, does this mean I must have a wireless card AND router for the old computer, or do I just need a router to install onto the old computer, and I can hook-up to the already existent wifi I have?

Hmm, let me answer you this way -
To connect wirelessly you need:
1 – A wireless access point (Wireless Router) on the network side
2 – A wireless network interface card (wireless NIC) on your computer
You do not need to remove your dial-up modem, but you may need to disable it if after you get your wireless setup, it still activates when you try to make your internet connection.
Hope that answers
If by wireless card, your mean a card that will alow your computer to find a connection wirelessly, then yes you need both.
if you want to use the wifi you’ve already got, you need a wireless device for your old machine(i presume desktop).
yes, a wireless card or a usb dongle!
Just add the Wireless card and disable the Dial up modem
Wireless Adapter is best option for this situation.
