FREE fax ware? please no shareware links?
I am looking for a simple program that will convert doc scans and fax them to local phone numbers… being able to receive faxes would be a plus.
Yes…. I have done the "G" search and all I find are fax services and "SHAREWARE" (which is really just PAYWARE) but you get a few days to pay for it.
I don’t want to use the services. Don’t like the idea of sending my DOCS to a 3rd party.

I agree, you should pick from trusted online faxing services. For example at http://faxfromyourcomputer.com/ you can find three of the best internet fax service which all offer a FREE 30 day trial. Test them out and after 30 days you decide if you want to sign-up.
The best you are going to get is sites like efax and myfax. They are good. If you need to send a lot of faxes then you might have to just pay a montly fee. Try metrofax.com if you don’t mind paying a little.
