how can i get a free software that let me use my landline via my pc and send fax?
i need to fax a document to my mobile provider and need a one off faxing. just looking for a software that will let me connect my landline (house phone) to my notebook or desktop to use it to fax the document

If you are using windows xp and have the installation disk you can add in the faxing software just select the option of adding optional windows components and you’ll see it listed just put a check mark in the box and click next. Your on your way.
Did you try the fax manager accessory that comes as a part of the Window’s accessories? If that’s not it try e-fax (www.efax.com)
Once you have a modem, you computer automatically becomes a fax machine, it just a matter of getting the right software and knowing how to use it, that’s the problem. Try reading your modem’s mannual, it should be in there.
