I forwarded your question to my step-daughter yesterday because I thought she may be able to help you. I would go to my E-mail account, select compose, type in the company’s name you want to send your resume to, and then in the body of the E-mail I would re-type my resume and try sending it this way. I also wanted to let you know before I went to bed that you have been on my mind all day. I am praying that you find the peace you are looking for by leaning on Jesus. Please stay in touch and let me know how you are doing.
U don’t say what program you use, but most recruitment people expect either a WORD (.DOC) file or a PDF file, some also take RTF.
If they wish DOC or RTF, and you are using MS Office, do as follows
File, SAVE AS. Select filetype as DOC or RTF as required. (almost every word processor can produce RTF)
Alternatively, google for a PDF printer driver, that installs a new "virtual" printer to creats a PDF file of anything you create. It will ask for a name so you can save it as a PDF file, then send this.
As you’ve tried sending before I assume you know how to use the paperclip icon to attach the file to the email.
Go back to your word program…click on "file" then "save as" ..below the "name of your file being saved" is a pulldown that allows you to select a different extension for your file. Look for an .rtf or a .doc extension..then click save…and try sending that.
Good Luck with the Job
Download openoffice (search on Google for a link, it’s free), then open up your Word document inside OpenOffice. OO has an “export as PDF” option. They might find that easier to open.
I really appreciate what you write here, very refreshing and smart. One thing though, I’m running Firefox on Ubuntu and some of your layout pieces are a little off. I know it’s not a popular setup, but it’s still something to keep an eye on. Just giving you a heads up.
