how do i fax from windows xp? message comes back 'no answer'. what am I doing wrong?
used wizard in fax console. I end up w/cover sheet, but have not been able to fax scanned items w/cover. Tried dialing direct from fax/scanner/copier still get ‘no answer’ from action. HELP!

I heard there’s a program glitch using the built-in XP fax service. Something about needing a separate modem connection for the fax if you’re already using the modem to access the internet. This Microsoft article might help:

If you still can’t fax, there are several companies that offier free online fax programs. Some offer a 30 day trial period while others limit you to the number if incoming / outgoing faxes per day. Hope this helps.
