How do I get someone to release their claim against me on PayPal?
Months ago, I sold something on Ebay for .
The customer later claimed it didn’t work as advertised, and sent it back to me. I tested it, and it did work as advertised. But whatever – I sent them a full refund.
I sent them a money order for from Bidpay.com. Bidpay says the customer received the money order and cashed it. However, the customer WILL not release her claim – so, PayPal charged me – now I can’t use PayPal unless I pay that !
I emailed, called, and faxed PayPal. I printed out my receipt from Bidpay and faxed it to them. The customer emailed me and said she got the money order and will release the claim. I forwarded that to PayPal as well.
PayPal says the fax I sent and the forwarded emails aren’t good enough, and that the customer MUST release the claim themselves. And this customer won’t release her claim – despite saying she would! What should I do?

Send PayPal a letter with all the collateral documents and tell them that you expect the matter settled within 30 days or you will file a complaint with the FTC, and proceed with a small-claims court case in your local jurisdiction. The combination of the two will be the one-two punch to get you some satisfaction!
My recommendation is to send the customer a "forceful" certified letter. Certified mail sometimes scares people a little bit. I am sure the only thing she has to do is sign on to PayPal and click a button. Let her know that you did everything a responsible merchant should do. And it is her responsibility to release the claim.
