I am tired of the cable modem wires and want to install a wireless router in my house?
What do I buy and how is this done ? Can I disconnect the modem or is it still needed for my television and telephone ?

You still need the modem. Then you’d hook up a wireless router to the modem. Then you’d just need wireless LAN cards in all your computers. Then you’d need to set up everything.
If this sounds like a big task, I know Geek Squad offers in home wireless networking.
You still need the cable modem for internet. The Wireless router would plug into the cable modem with an Ethernet cable.
What you are saving is the Ethernet wire that goes to your computer. (this assumes your computer has wireless Ethernet (WiFi) built in. Most laptops do,, most desktops don’t)
There are many wireless routers on the market from $40 to $150, Apple’s Airport Extreme http://www.apple.com/airportextreme/ and Airport Express http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/

It depens on what provider you have…..and what wireless router u have 2!!!!!!!!
Well, you need to make sure your computer is wireless also. Getting a wireless router at Walmart, they got plenty. It will come with a disc, and the disc will tell you step by step how to hook it up. If your computer is not wireless, then you have to buy more stuff.
