PC fax with DSL connection?

   yes you need an analog modem, it can be pci internal or external that doesn’t matter, and the phone line to it will need a filter.
   The line from the wall jack needs a 2 way splitter. One filtered to the 56k analog modem, and one unfiltered to the dsl modem

   We never filter the phone line to the dsl modem or the dsl won’t work.
   xp comes with built in fax software, but doesn’t usually install on it’s own, you will have to add remove programs click on add remove windows components, and add fax service

   If you don’t mind paying a monthly fee, there are FAX services like eFax that can send faxes over the Internet rather than over regular phone lines. I think it’s around $17/month, pretty pricey if you’re only sending an occasional Fax.
