Can I send fax using my scanner and send it via the internet (I’m using a broadband)?

whenever a fax is sent from my house or received from another person , all of the internet connections in the house get disconnected . it really bugs me and my sister cuz we’re always using the internet for assignments and such , then suddenly BAM . it takes around 2 minutes for everything to reconnect though but it just adds to my frustration lol . does anyone know what to do or how to fix it ? i don’t know much about internet things but i have bigpond broadband .

I occasionally want to send to a fax machine but I am using broadband and things like winfax or other software seem to want fax/data modem to dial a telephone no.?
Can I scan to a file and then send as a fax?

if i connect a usb modem to the phone in the wall and then connect it to a windows 98 pc can i acces my broadband on the windows 98 pc?

I am a Linux newbi, and am using Debian sarge as my distro! I also use BSNL Data One Broadband connection with Smart AX MT882 adsl modem. I had tried 2 install/compile the relevant drivers 4 the modem in linux 4m the supplied CD , but 2 no avail!! How can I connect to the internet 4m linux?? plz be kind enough to give fairly detailed description!!!

I am operating Windows Vista (Home Edition). My printer is an HP PhotoSmart 2575 All-in-one. My Internet connection is: AOL Broadband.
How do I set up the facility to send and receive a Fax?
I would be most grateful for any ideas.
