Hello,
I’m looking to get a all in one printer with fax.
Q: I have a laptop, can the printer be set up to a laptop? Will I need special wires or anything?
Q: I don’t have a land line at home, I only use my cell. Can I make the fax work via my cell phone?
Q: wireless printers…exactly what is wireless? plz explain.
Q: I have wireless internet at home, can I fax wirelessly that way?

Thank you so much everyone for your help.

I do not have a phone line and therefore cannot fax. What is the cheapest way to do so. I have cable internet and cell phone no land line.
I do not have any friends that have anything other than their cell phones.

I don’t want to get a phone line just to have fax capability, and I use my cell phone for calls, so it’s really unnecessary. I don’t like eFax and those other virtual fax thingys, I just want to know about using this as a fax maybe over ip kind of like voip

It is a local number that keeps calling my cell phone, multiple times per day. When I pick up, all I hear is beeping, and when I hang up I recieve a text message from verizon saying I’ve recieved a fax from that number….a fax on a cellphone?!

I have searched the phone number in google to see if any other numbers pop up with it, and reverse searched with 411 but no luck. Any advice?

This has been going on for over a week, quite annoying!!

This fax number, 972 372-1723, keeps dialing my cell phone. I did a search but cannot find who it belongs to. Anyone know how I can look this up?

I hooked up the J3680 AIO printer for a friend. She will never, ever use the FAX but delighted to have the additional phone connection because she doesn’t have cordless phones so it gives her a phone near her computer.

My question is: If I set up the speed dials for her, can she use them to dial for a voice connection and NOT sending a fax?

The dial tone is fine and the printer phone rings & works when I dial it from my cell phone and when I use the numerical buttons on the printer to dial out. I just can’t figure out what to do to make the phone on the printer actually make a voice call once the number is in the window? The number just sits in the window and it does not dial.

This is a VOIP connection & I used a splitter at the wall for the router and the phone to the wall jack. The dial tone is fine. Just how the heck do you trigger the printer phone to dial out using speed dial? Or is speed dial only for fax usage?

What do you push to actually make the phone dial the speed dial number showing in the display?

I set up her cell phone on speed dial 01 just for a test but I could not figure out what button(s) to hit on the printer to make the call actually happen. I pressed speed dial and then I pressed "1" and the phone number was in the window but I have no idea how to actually ‘trigger’ the call. This would be to "talk" not to send a fax.

If the phone dials out and rings in, then it should all work??

Thank you in advance, Donna

I am unable to get dial-up or broadband connection where I live, so I am forced to use an air card with a cell phone connection. Is there a FAX program out there that I can download onto my computer that can connect using my PC card, where I can send and receive faxes through my air card? rather than a hardwired connection?

Is there a cable to connect my cell phon eto my fax machine so I can send a fax using my cell phone?
Or, is there a way to send a fax FREE, no charge, over the Internet?

I have never set up fax on a PC. What do I need to receive fax on my laptop when I travel. Do I receive them on my email? And do I need a number, or do I use the number of my Access card? I have a Verizon BroadbandAccess PC Card and I know it has its own number like a cell phone. Help me get started.

I have BVRP Classic Phone Tools, for years now I have been able to fax from my PC with no problem. Recently it has began acting strange… I used to scan multiple pages thru my all-in-one & choose the option "Fax using PC Modem" & when I was done scaning all the pages desired it would automatically roll over to my fax software, but it stopped doing that & I had to go in an scan all my documents to a folder then fax each on individually as an attachment rather than all together as on fax. I was going to do that this evening (fax 1 cover sheet, then 7 pages one-by-one) but when I went to fax the cover sheet & 1st page of all the faxes I got an error message "COMMUNICATIONS PORT UNAVAILABLE" Now I know this is refering to the modem in my computer, but everything is hooked up the exact way it has always been & when I troubleshoot everything says "device working properly" What could be wrong? When I try to query the modem it says there is a program using it & to close it before continuing,
but I don’t know what program could be tieing up the modem since the only on that uses it is my fax software & that will not even establish a connection. How can I find out what program is using the modem… Could it be blocking the fax machine from useing the modem & faxing? HELP PLEASE!!!
I figured it out. It was a cell phone cable I had plugged in the USB interupting the communication.
Still need help with he scanned pages not automatically rolling over to fax software.
