I had CanonCreative pro on my computer, but I uninstalled it to upgrade it, and now it’s not working at all, soooooo. Could anyone tell me where I can find a free software download that will allow me to scan my printed photos from my Canon MultiPass C5500 scanner/printer/fax machine onto my IBM with windows 98. I have IrfanView version 4.00 just loaded onto my puter this AM to upgrade from my 3.7 I had. You can scan and Print only from that program. I need to be able to actually scan and save. Help me someone PLEASEEEEEEEE!!!!! Thank You
I just printed off a application, and i am supposed to fax it, i don’t know how to do it, and i don’t know if my printer is a fax machine.
My fax machine is hooked up to the same line as my phone… ie. they share a phone line. Is there a way to set my fax machine to identify and receive faxes without me being present to answer the phone? I have my voicemail set up on this line too, so I don’t want the fax machine to answer every call… just the faxes. Is there a way to make this happen or am I boned? Thanks.
I have a selection out of my customer database that I want to fax a flyer regarding a customer appriciation bbq I am hosting. Basically I want to fax a flyer inviting each customer that has purchased within the past three months or spent a certain dollar amount over the past year. There are thousands. I can sort the fax numbers I want out into excel but is there an easier way then having one of my employees sit by the fax machine all day? Also, is it legal to fax invitations that are unsolicitated?
I have no fax machine.
I used to connect internet via modem?
What do you think are 3 good rules to remember when using the fax machine to fax medical documents? Why did you pick these 3?
I send faxes via fax tools on my computer – do not have an independent fax machine. I do not know how to receive faxes. The software says to make sure fax tools is up (it is) and is set to receive mode (it is) but when my phone rings, it goes to my answering machine (those little irritating beeps) and then hangs up) and no fax is received. I think I know the problem but not sure. I do have a HP56 modem plugged in which I use to send faxes but my Internet server is FIOS. Maybe to receive I have to change the setup of the software to reflect Fios as the modem and not my HP56 modem. If so, I do not know how to do that. Any suggestions. Thanks.
Someone out there must know something about computer fax software. Please help!
And no commercials such as the first answer. That does not help me.
Does anyone know what the correct way to connect a phone to a digital answering machine, caller id & a fax machine. It seems the current configuration the fax doesn’t recognize a fax coming through and the digital answering machine stopped picking up and calls are going through to the voicemail on the phone.
This is a landline.
Thanks for all your help in advance.
I have no fax machine.
I connect to internet via modem.
How can I send fax?
Hello,
I have two different faxes that I would like to link to the same phone line. I have a different number with a special ring on my phone line for faxes. At the moment, with one machine, it’s working. But I am trying to add my second fax machine and it doesn’t seem to work anymore. The sending part works, it’s the receving part that is a problem.
Thanks for your help
I have to scan weekly homework and send it in via the internet, but I don’t have access to a scanner. I hear that you can use a fax machine to send the page directly to your email account. How do I do that? I’ve googled a whole bunch of stuff and the only thing I am getting is how to send a fax via email and that you have to purchase something in order to do that. I dont care to do so, I just need some way to get my homework onto a computer! and preferably through a fax machine…. someone please help ASAP!
We do not have a phone line no need really. cable modem and cell phones are better and cheaper then the phone services. but we need to send a fax so is it possible to use a fax machine via the internet with a cable modem? I dont want to go out and buy a new fax machine and find out i cant use it. thanks
I’m in need of a basic program that will allow my computer to receive faxes sent by any typical fax machine. (I don’t really need the ability to send faxes.) And this need is going to be temporary (I’m collecting data for a short-term project) so I’m reluctant to invest big bucks in a computer program that’s designed for company offices. Is there a free download that will work? A friend of mine had an eFax Messenger download once but their service is no longer free. Can anyone recommend a freeware program, or at least an inexpensive one?
By the way, I use Windows XP on a broadband connection. I have no land line and no phone modum.
Do you use it less now with online fax services, or do you still use your home based fax, or do you use both?
Internet fax for receiving to save on paper and wear and tear on the machine and a fax machine to send out?
The sender does not have a computer so I need to be able to receive the fax on my fax machine using my regular telephone line. The Telephone Company will set me up with a special ring that activates my fax; but they will charge per month.
What and which is a good program where I can send and receive faxes via the internet and without a physical fax machine.
I am technologically ignorant. I am trying to set up a home office and give myself as much flexibility as possible. I’d ideally like to have as few wires in my office as possible. Also, I’m purchasing a new laptop computer. But I don’t know anything about WI-FI, Bluetooth, or internet access providers such as Sprint or Verizon. Can someone explain to me if I need all of them, or just one or two of them. Also, does WI-FI, Bluetooth etc eliminate the need for wires going from the fax machine to the computer to the printer and scanner etc? Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Or if you know of a good "dummies" guide please let me know. Thanks
….but I’d like to know if it would be better to buy a fax machine or use an online service.
I can hardly find printers that function as fax machines that are affordable anymore, and a simple fax machine, even at the low end will cost well over 0. And I’m comparing to the use of an online fax service that will cost about per month.
So which makes more sense? Does anyone here use an online service just for regular home use? Is it worth it?
I am trying to look for replacement parts for my KXFL 521 fax machine because lately parts of the page are not printing. (the whole left side turns up blank). what part do you suppose is the problem area?
basically allowing a fax machine and a phone on the same line to operate independently. For example, someone is sending a
fax and the phone doesn’t ring but the fax receives a fax, something like a splitter of some sort. So, I dont have to get another phone line for my fax machine
thankyou

I do not have a fax machine on my computer,. I have 2 phone jacks in my home. One for my computer the other for my land phone. Recently when people try to call my phone it will ring twice then go to a weird busy signal . I’ve found that when I unplug my computer from its phone jack, then someone can call my phone like normal. What could be the trouble?
