Of course I can connect to web via network port in my laptop but I can not do it via dial up port. Also I have a dual pci card supporting the two way connection (dial up and ethernet) of OSITECH company. Here the only ethernet connection do work properly but the other port related dial up connection built on the card (PCI). Newly because of non-working my dial up way on card, I have purchased an external USB " U.S.Robotics" Fax-modem, but once connecting via dialup I receive an error conflicting port. please help me.

Hi! I know i can send faxes through efax.
My 1st question:
Is it FREE to send unlimited faxes to anypart of world from EFAX? or are there any limits?
My 2nd questn:
We can send faxes thru XP. Does sending faxes from XP cost any charge?
Do we have to install any fax modem for this or can we manage with ADSL modem or a dialup modem? (pl dont laugh at this silly question)
My 3rd questn:
If i just join my phone line pin to my PC & send any fax to my local place through XP (within city & not long distance) does that cost? Will the local call charges be charged by my telephone operator? If sent to a long distance will the "long distance call charges" will be charged?
Please answer all my questions.
Also answer this:
What is the best way
a) to send faxes within my pace (not long distance)
b) to send faxes to long distance
c) to send FREE faxes
Hope you understand my lengthy questions & i hope you will answer all of my questions
THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Hi, I just got this HP with windows vista home premium, which is a
huge mistake, as I later found out that there is no microsoft fax
software installed like the XP version. I went ahead to download the
Delrina Winfax Lite freeware from the web and installed it on my vista
machine. However, my fax modem is using COM8 port and the winfax lite
freeware can only do com1,2, 3, 4. Somehow this software can not go
beyond the com4. I wonder if anyone has the same problem or has some
suggestions to this problem? Thanks!
hello all. I was wondering if anyone has used their wireless phone as a fax modem.. i need to know what equipment/features/options one would need to be able to send/receive fax’s without access to regular telephone line. I would like to know for at&t the carrier please. even if it means teathering to a fax machine physically. or any ways you may know how, thanks. all suggestions appreciated.
Hello friends! This is Prabhakaran from India. Before a few a weeks I came to know that we can send fax using pc if we have a fax modem in the pc. In our office we are already having a fax machine integrated in a PBX(Private Branch Exchange). If we are getting a fax from outstations first we get call on one of the terminal. Then the caller asks us to give them the fax tone. After this we will forward that call to the fax machine (For instance we will press *, 25 to give the fax tone.) They get the fax tone and send the fax and our fax machine prints it. I tried the fax modem and integrated into one of the terminals of the PBX. And also I requested a person to send a fax from outside. Again the main phone rang. And the caller wanted me to give the fax tone. This time I forwarded the call to the fax modem instead of fax machine. This time also the fax printed but through the printer connected on the pc on which the fax modem connected. We only tried upto this. No What I want to know is whether fax modem only receive fax tones i.e. not able to change the voice signal into fax signal. For instance, assume you are having a pc and a fax modem in your home. And I am having a Tele-fax machine in my home. Suppose, that I want to send a fax to you (Assume you are having a Telefax machine). What we normally do. First I call the user, then the user take the phone. I tell him to give me the fax tone. Then he presses the fax receiving button in the Telefax machine. And his voice being cut off and I will get a fax tone. And then I start to copy the document and sent it. My question is supposed if you are having only fax modem. How can I send the fax to you? How I call you? How you answer Me? How you give me the fax-tone? And vice-versa. I hope you help me friends. I think that it not necessary to buy a dedicated line for the fax modem, if we are able to pick up both voice signals and fax signals using the fax modem and change it as necessary. I am also happy if any one can say the using limits of voice modem along with the pc. For example, IVR(Interacted Voice Response Service) related and voicemail facilities with the help of hard-disk.
My elderly parents just bought a fax modem in order to use it instead of the broken fax machine. The program i’m looking for has to as simple as possible, preferrably free or cheap.
what software do i need to buy? I tried the fax service of windows but the computer doesnt recognize the modem that came with internet provider, it is connected to ethernet card.
do i need to by a new fax/modem card?
I am using a 56k modem to connect to the internet since nothing else is available in my area. Recently my modem got fried in an electrical storm and I had to buy another one. I purchased an internal fax modem and installed it. Since then it seems the computer ties up the phone line when I am not on the internet. It isn’t all the time just every now and then. You don’t hear the modem talking when you pick up the phone as it does when you are on the internet, just silence. The reason I blame it on my computer is that to get my phone back I either have to disconnect the computer from the phone jack or sometimes just trying to log onto the internet will give me the use of my phone back. Anyone have any suggestions or reasons this might be happening and how to solve this problem?
I want to send fax from PC. I know programs like WinFax, but everyone says you need a fax modem. Is that something special or the same as a regular dial up modem???
there is a fax modem installed in my computer and i have a telephone line connected to my computer
