Perhaps with the same phone number as one’s phone in number? They could use people’s Yahoo email accounts to send/recieve the faxes.
I’ve thought about getting online faxing for a while now, but I don’t think I should have to pay a month to send and recieve a fax every now and then if I already pay to have a telephone number, and I do through yahoo call in.

If I understand how online faxing works properly, all you need in order to recieve faxes is a phone number and an email account… I have both of those through yahoo, and yahoo has been quite innovative in communications, so it makes sense that this would be one of the next steps. And it would make my life a lot easier!

I want to do all faxing via email. I need GREAT recommendations for online EMAIL FAX SERVICE.

I recently switched to comcast cable/internet/phone service and I seem to be having a problem using my brother printer for faxing. Before I use to be able to plug up the phone line directly into the printer and a line from the computer to the printer and fax. Now when I do this, I can’t even get a dial tone, I pressed the hook button on the fax machine and lo and behold I heard a radio station (this has never happened before). I am still able to print from the printer and I havent tried to download pics from the memory card slot which is on the printer to the computer yet, so I don’t know if that will be a problem or not!!!!! So with all this being said, I need to know how to hook up my brother mfc-420 cn printer/fax/copier with all of this new comcast equipment that’s now taking over my fax line? Thanks for your help

I will do minmum faxing but would it better to get a fax machine or just buy software to send and get fax from my PC??

Hi,
I own a pc and a Brother integrated printer-fax-scanner MFC5440CN.
The Brother provided software doesn’t show an option of sending a fax directly from my pc. This is a significant disadvantage, since I must first print any document I plan to fax, and only as a second step fax it.
Do you know a way I can add direct faxing to my Brother unit?

Ran
I read the suggestion to add faxing capabilities to my xp pro system and followed the instruction.
Here’re my comments:
1. Adding this option requires mounting the xp installation disk (which I did)
2. Another requirement for this option to work is the availability of a modem. I’m connected to the web by DSL and manage without a modem. Therefore, I failed to implemet the suggestion.
3. I did learn however a point, which led me to a solution. Printing a document, allows the choice of a printer. Brother MFC-5440CN includes a printer called "Brother PC-Fax". When I choose this printer, I’m ofered a dialer, which uses a DSL connection, and provides a direct faxing capabilities to my system.

I have a fax number so that I can receive faxes to an email account, however I would like to be able to send also without having an actual fax machine in my home. Hey if it is free that is all the better. Faxing is such an outdated technology while .pdf is better. I already have conversions for .pdf files to word and vice versa. Some companies still like to receive faxes and I need help on this one. Please forgive me as I also have not had the time to do the research. I am hoping all my friends with ANSWERS will be able to come up with something useful. Thank you all so much.

I am looking for something funny or cute…that is or can be used as a cover sheet for faxing — preferably something I can use in the office.

I work for a company that has some picnic tables to sell for sale, they’re in the Las Vegas area so we are limited to selling them there.

we’ve already tried craigslist and faxing out flyers. any ideas what else we can do
We’re trying to sell to parks and commercial, but i’m not sure where to look and if faxing is the best idea. we’re thinking of emailing the flyer to a few companies as well.

I just hooked up a fax to my pc and was wondering if there are charges eventually for faxing from home.

I see there are a few examples of Freeware for Faxing to and from WinXP over the internet or through a 56k modem, but I would like to know what others have tried and found to work well.

I am starting up my own business, and I need to set up a Fax number to receive and send faxes. At my previous job we actually used Fax by email and we really had no problem with it at all, to be honest I only used it once or twice when I worked there but others used it daily. I do not have that much experience with it and this is why I am asking if Fax by email is the same as faxing through a fax machine in my home office? Are there advantages and disadvantages when using Fax by email? Am I better off using one more than the other? The reason I ask is that I have a fax machine that was given to me so if I need to use it all I need to do is set up a fax service with my phone company but I have heard a lot about Fax by email. From what I understand you can send and receive, keep files stored in folders, etc. when using fax by email which is very helpful when keeping track of all your incoming and outgoing faxes. I have always used a fax machine to send and receive faxes, but now that there is the option of using Fax by email I want to be sure which one would be better for me to use for my new business and which one is less expensive. Is fax by email more expensive than faxing with a fax maching?

Any information regarding Fax by email or Fax by fax machine would be highly appreciate. Advice on which way should I go and which way would have more advantages than disadvantages would be great as well.

Thanks for your time and help.

i need to fax a document to my mobile provider and need a one off faxing. just looking for a software that will let me connect my landline (house phone) to my notebook or desktop to use it to fax the document

i have been trying to download some mobile software from the internet. but i’ve been told that my country has been blacklisted due to the high rate of identity fraud emanating from some unsavory citizens. However I’ve been told that I can register my card by faxing or emailing copies of my credit card, identity card and credit card statement to the merchant. Is this safe?
