Hello,
I’m looking to get a all in one printer with fax.
Q: I have a laptop, can the printer be set up to a laptop? Will I need special wires or anything?
Q: I don’t have a land line at home, I only use my cell. Can I make the fax work via my cell phone?
Q: wireless printers…exactly what is wireless? plz explain.
Q: I have wireless internet at home, can I fax wirelessly that way?
Thank you so much everyone for your help.
Of course I can connect to web via network port in my laptop but I can not do it via dial up port. Also I have a dual pci card supporting the two way connection (dial up and ethernet) of OSITECH company. Here the only ethernet connection do work properly but the other port related dial up connection built on the card (PCI). Newly because of non-working my dial up way on card, I have purchased an external USB " U.S.Robotics" Fax-modem, but once connecting via dialup I receive an error conflicting port. please help me.

I’d like to be able to send a fax job from my laptop, across the Intent, and to my home fax machine.
Once the fax job gets to the home fax machine the fax job will go out over my phone line.
I am aware of the eFax and the MyFax services but what I am looking for is the ability to use my home fax machine while on the road.
I moved from the US to Spain about a year ago. Shortly before I moved, I bought a PC and a laptop from Dell (I didn’t know I was moving at the time). The laptop works fine over here, I’m using a simple power adapter, no voltage converter. The PC is still in the US, and I’m preparing for it to be sent over, but what else does it need for it to work?
Again, it’s a little over a year old (though barely used) and it has US power cables. It’s a Dell Inspiron 530 series Desktop. I have called Dell, and some have said it’s as simple as switching out the power cable, others have said that Dell does not endorse using your PC in another country. (Whatever). So what do I need to know? Please note I don’t have access to view the power supply inside the unit right now, as I’m in another country.
In addition to the unit, I also have a monitor that uses a power supply cable similar to the unit, a printer/scanner/fax/copier/phone that has an inbuilt cable made by Brothers, and an external HD. Will any of these need voltage converters? Can I get away with using an adapter and a US surge protector to use them all from one power supply? What do I need to know??
I appreciate all the help! Thanks!!
Was that a function of the PC or the printer? Was the fax mode a part of Word or some other program on PC ? Is there any way I can add this feature to one of my 3 PCs? Have 2 desktops & one laptop.
I was wondering if it is possible to send a document (such as a Word document) to my downstairs computer to print it. The laptop connects wirelessly to my router which is directly connected to the PC. Is there any way for my to access the printer from my laptop?
I don’t think the printer is blue tooth compatible. It is also a fax machine though so if there is any kind of fax wizard on my laptop that would be great to know about. I have a dell inspiron by the way. Thanks!
First, I live in a rural area and my only options for internet access is dialup or satellite. The cost of the satellite is prohibitive, not to mention the fact that I have heard it is not reliable. That leaves us with dialup. We have Verizon telephone service, and the fastest I am ever able to connect is 33.26, but usually it is 28. This is with a 56 k modem. Is there something I can do to increase my speed? I can not access YouTube because of the slow connection, and downloading even songs takes a ridiculous amount of time-forget anything more than a song.
My daughter is getting a laptop for Christmas. It is a gift from her grandfather, who gets all of the grandchildren a computer at a certain age range. I am picking it out, and have chosen one with WiFi. I know there are some places that offer free WiFi and some that charge, but is that all she will need to connect? There is also an option for a Wireless card with Bluetooth-I know what Bluetooth is, exactly how does that work on the wireless card?
Her father and I are going to get her a docking station for the laptop for her January birthday, and I am wondering how to network my all in one print/scan/copy/fax to her laptop, so that both computers can share the same equipment?
I think that is all for now…again, thank you very much for your time.
when I used Windows XP, I was able to send a fax directly from the print options. There was even this really helpful fax option that made it really simple to send documents by fax directly from the laptop. Why can’t I do this from Windows Vista? What SHOULD I do?
because i reinstalled windows vista and now it says that im not connected to the internet!!=[ i called the company and they told me that the internet modem is fine and that the internet modem unstalled from my computer plz if someone knows how to install it back plz plz tell me thanxx
oh yeah by the way i have a desk top not a laptop!!
I was told that to get on the internet from my laptop I need to intall a modem. I have no clue what I’m doing. Please help.
Is there something I need to download onto my computer for the internet? I already have a wireless card.
I’d like to send a fax (a Word docu) directly from my laptop but I don’t know how. My os is XP Home Edition. Thanks!
I know it sounds dumb but i just installed my D-link 524 wireless modem. Ok let me try to explain this I installed and the internet works obviously but what I want to do is try and place the modem in the middle of the house so I get a better reception but im confused at how to do this without losing connection with the adsl modem.
This is how its connected. The adsl modem is connected to the internet and it has a ethernet cable going to the d-link. My dlink has a ethernet cable going to my computer which i think is dead because it doesnt seem to be picked up although i could be wrong.
If i unhook both ethernet cables and have the wrouter wireless in the middle of the house does it connect with my other modem or how does it connect wireless its very confusing to me im only 15.
Im trying to connect my desktop which has wireless lan, my sony ps3, and my mums laptop. Please explain how I can transmit the signal wireless without ethernet cables if its possible?
i have windows vista Home and i need to download a program allows me to send and receive faxes through my laptop using the built in modem i looked over the internet and all the programs i found that i have to pay for them i need some thing free download it and use it and works fine with vista
I have DSL and a SmartChoice DSL 500. Im running XP on a laptop. I have internet access. However, I can’t access the modems configuration utility at 192.168.1.1?
The router is reset to factory settings. Why the hell can’t I access the utility? What do I do? I’m trying to install a wireless router behind it, but it’s dead when I install it. I imagine I need to do something in the config.
Any help is appreciated. If you need more info just post what and I’ll add it really quick. Thanks!
I have a laptop with a wireless card for the internet and was interested in getting a printer/copier/scanner/fax…but without a traditional land-line I don’t know if it’s possible. My laptop has a 56k ITU V.92 fax/modem, but I’m not that technical so I don’t know how it relates.
I have formatted my Compaq Presario V3035TU Laptop and installed Windows Server 2003 SP1. I have installed almost all the driver and software but I could not compatible driver for "Conexant HDAUDIO Soft data fax Modem with SmartCP". Please HELP

I’m looking for the best, though not bank busting, Fax Modem. I would like to know more about them, The net is just confusing. I know they allow faxes to be sent from the pc. that’s about it. Please be thorough. Please also refer to a few ones (links). I would like to have the internal ones. As said below, I have a 1520, where exactly on the laptop will the Fax Board be installed. Thanks a lot
My system is a Inspiron 1520, 32bit Vista Premium with 2GB RAM. Processor: Intel Core Duo T5250 @ 1.50GHz. NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
I have never set up fax on a PC. What do I need to receive fax on my laptop when I travel. Do I receive them on my email? And do I need a number, or do I use the number of my Access card? I have a Verizon BroadbandAccess PC Card and I know it has its own number like a cell phone. Help me get started.
I purchased a used laptop with no modem install. I think the previous owner used wireless connections.Should I buy a external modem or should I get the wireless connection card since I have highspeed internet through direcway.
i have a toshiba l300d 11v laptop. i had windows vista on but changed it to windows xp. my sound crackles alot and when i switch it on it says modem device on high definition audio bus. what is wrong
My roommate and I are going to rent an apartment. We each have a laptop. The owner said he would install ADSL or cable internet for us. If my roommate connects to the landline, what do I need to install to get wireless internet?
We are both pretty clueless about this so the simpler the explanation, the more helpful it will be. Is there a product you can recommend? Does it matter that I have a Mac and my roommate has a PC?
Thanks!
Thanks everyone for your input! I’ll try Linksys when I move in.
