I was able to send and receive fax when I was using the dial up but now I can’t because I’m currently using DSL. I had followed instruction from Windows Fax capability and it requires to insert the Windows XP Professional CD-ROM. I don’t have it on hand because my Desktop was customized. Also, I have Lexmark 4300 Series All-in-One but it failed, no dial tone. I only have one phone line. BTW, I’m aware of eFax and other fax services online. What’s your best technical advice? Many thanks in advance.
I go into my lexmark sofeware and click send a fax, It scans
the fax on the scanner and I add my cover sheet.
I then put the persons name and fax number I’m sending it
to. I have another screen come up and tells me it is connecting
and I here the dial tone and ringing of the number and it sounds
like it’s going through and then after a few seconds it comes
back and said it failed connection. It sounds like it’s going to
work and then it doesn’t. Help
I have a 4in1 Lexmark printer (5 years old). It contains PC fax software called BVRP. I recently changed out my older computer to a less older computer and reinstalled the printer/software. The printer works fine except for the fax software. At first, we thought it was my older modem so we put in a different modem (internal) and immediately the software recognized it. So we thought all was okay. But, the transmissions won’t complete. It dials, connects, starts to initialize, then it says "fine mode remote modem not compatible". I tried several different fax numbers but nothing works. I just can’t figure out why it won’t send. Any suggestions that I can try. My softward is approx 6 years old and the help line is not very helpful if you know what I mean. Thanks!
My software is trying to send 14,400 bps. In my Lucent Modem properties, it shows a port speed of 115,200. Could this be the problem.
If you had a choice of updating the Lexmark software drivers or the modem drivers to fix the incapatability problem, which would be your first choice.
I have a Lexmark X9575 printer. It has the options of regular printing, faxing, copying, and scanning. When I click the scan button though, it says "downloading scan applications list from your computer. Please wait.." and then after a couple minutes it comes up with a message that says, "Cannot retrieve scan applications list from your computer" and goes back to the normal menu.
anyone know how to get it to work?

Whenever I try to send a fax through my lexmark printer it just says no dial tone. By the way I have a dsl internet connection.
I have a Lexmark x63 and the manual says that you can set it at 3 different levels one of which is "answer/fax" which allows one to receive voicemail and faxes simutaneously but when I tested it by trying to send a fax from another location it did not go through and when I got home and dialed my number from my cell the display on the fax machine said, "press 9 on the telephone or start twice to receive faxes." What is the problem? I have it set at "answer/ fax but when I dialed the number from my cell it reverted to the other level which is "telephone mode" which has one to manually press 9 on the telephone or start twice on the fax machine which means I would have to be here to receive faxes. What is the problem and how can this be resolved? Thanks
My printer/scanner is a Lexmark all in one. One of it’s features is it will send Fax’s. I have broadband (cable). I don’t have a Fax # for my computer (to recieve Fax’s). Do I need one? If so, where/how do I get one? Where do I get a Fax Identifier? Is it automaticaly attached to the fax without my input when I send? Thanks in advance!
