my OS is WIN Xp. i have fax machine and modem. i add fax in printer and faxes. but when receive a fax, fax machine print it, i don’t receive its file in inbox. i want to receive just file without print.

Is there any way to send n receive fax with just a fax line, streamyx, and pc that runs on vista. My streamys tags on my fax line, so can I skip on a separate modem for the fax line?

can someone suggest any good software or hardware that i need to do this PC fax thing? preferably not involving huge money.

I don’t have a modem installed on my computer. Is there a way to do it over the internet, so when people send me a fax, it prints to a PDF file, etc. on my computer. I would also like to be able to send faxes to people directly from my computer. How do I set this up? I have Verizon phone service and DSL.

I Don’t want a trail version. I don’t want something like efax or any other program similar to that. I want a free faxing that you can use if you have a scanner, modem, and internet connection.

My mom and my friend Fernando tell me that it is "el modem", which makes enough sense. But my textbook says another term for a moden is "el fax". I asked them about this, and they say this isn’t true. Is there any country where they call the modem "el fax" or is this just wrong? Also, there was a question in my book asking, "How do you send a fax?" And we were supposed to choose from a list of computer related electronics/devices, and she said the answer was "el fax/el modem." I mean, I’m pretty sure there is a way you can send a fax through your computer, but she’s not exactly computer smart (She’s running Windows 95 still) so it’s not like she would know that. What’s the deal?!

i have windows vista Home and i need to download a program allows me to send and receive faxes through my laptop using the built in modem i looked over the internet and all the programs i found that i have to pay for them i need some thing free download it and use it and works fine with vista

I am using conexant modem for dial-up connection which windows xp can not detect it without a driver installed, but when connecting the modem makes a nonstop loud sound after the connection.The modem is detected as generic softk56 Data fax. Do you know how I can get rid of this sound?

This is like my 2nd question but anywho I’m on the dell website(on my friend’s computer) and my computer doesn’t detect my speakers or modem so I need to know what drivers do I install! when i try to install the adsl self install disk an error page comes like it will come up and i will do i agree thing and click on the thing where it will help u install but when i click next the page will come up and say error and it tell me to reboot the modem restart computer and stuff or call customer support i tried rebooting and restarting but it wont work whats wrong can any 1 help me before i waste my time waiting for ages just to get a customer support person

I bought a modem which is only 1 to 2 years old and put it into my pc, but now have a newer pc but the modem appears to be from 2002. Seems it would be best if I keep the newer modem and install into the newer pc since it is compatible with it, too. Plus I have a fax program with the newer modem and do not see one listed for the 2002 modem.

I have a modem, that came with an ethernet cable. I connected it and I don’t know how to install it. I searched in device manager but nothing. I have an installation CD but that’s only for USB drivers. So how to I setup the ethernet cable?

Im using an ACER travelmate series laptop and have encoutered problems with my USB devices as stated. The devices used to function normally and is functional with my desktop but not this laptop. The USB devices when plucked into my laptop are powered up but, the mouse cursor fail to respond to the movements of the mouse, the webcam images hang and I’m prompted to install a new hardware and my modem connects and disconnects me from the internet. All of the problem happens after a period of time of normal functioning and occurs periodically. Can anyone help me with this, as I have just retrieved my laptop from ACER’s service center and it is still experiencing the same problems despite them claiming that the USB ports are working fine and refuses to change them for me. I connect to the internet via dsl so I have not much use for my modem I used to connect for my old dial-up isp. Except for sending and receiving faxes I have not much use for it. Now I am planning to buy a new computer do I still need to have modem installed? Besides the ones I have mentioned what other possible uses would I have for a modem? Is there a way I can send and receive fax without the regular modem?
