I have a seperate, high speed modem for internet access.
Where do I find a freeware voice-fax program. I’m sure there must be a way thru the Windows XP application

I was trying WinFax Pro on my computer to send fax via email. It didn’t work, maybe bcoz I am using Windows XP. Then, I tried looking for many, many other software options online. I couldn’t find a link that actually works or link to the real thing.

If I plug the DSL-322T via Usb port. does windows vista ultimate automatically install it? and does the icons for network activity blink after you activate animation for blinking computers in notification area? If not, does windows xp driver (if any) work with windows vista to support this modem and does the blinking in notifaction area work ?

I also want to know the answers in case of Ethernet port for connecting to pc.

Recently my PC’s hardrive conked out. I have just installed the replacment hardrive and re installed windows XP. I am using a Speedtouch ADSL Modem.

But My folks have misplaced the installation CD. if there was ever one to begin with.

I was wondering if anyone knew how I could get connected to the internet. perhaps though xp??

My Provider is BT BROADBAND. if that makes any difference.

I have 2 PC’s in my home network. Both have windows XP installed.
I have an adsl modem which is connected to a D Link DI-624 Wireless Router.
One of my PCs ( say PC 1) is wired directly to the the router ( An
ethernet wire from from PC1 goes to the Dlink router)
The other PC (say PC 2) is connected wirelessly to the router.

The problem is that I want to share files from PC 1 to PC 2. I cant do
it with the current setup.

Additional Information: PC 1 has IP address: 192.168.0.5
PC 2 has IP address: 192.168.0.100
The router has IP address: 192.168.0.1
So the gateway for both PC1 and PC2 is 192.168.0.1.

PC2 can ping PC1 but PC1 cannot ping PC2.
There is no firewall installed in either of the PCS.

How do I connect my 2 pcs so that they can share files with each other.

Both the PCs are in the same workgroup and both have File and Print services enabled.

i have a toshiba l300d 11v laptop. i had windows vista on but changed it to windows xp. my sound crackles alot and when i switch it on it says modem device on high definition audio bus. what is wrong

2 and all the drivers have been installed successfully. I look at the device manager and the d-link modem is installed and it states that it is working correctly. I would like to know since this is much different than Windows XP how do you connect to the internet using this modem as the other connection efforts have come out with no result.. please tell me step by step.

Windows XP SP2 has a fax package but it is ridiculously complicated and almost impossible to use since it cannot be configured to send faxes manually. I used to use a fax software that has both the manual and automatic features but I doubt it if it is compatible with Windows XP.

I am trying to fax from my home pc and have the right software on my pc as provided by me OS (windows XP)
Can I fax from my pc without a land line telephone line??

I have Windows XP, have never faxed from it, but in need of sending a fax. I have a Dell system and am sure that it has the proper modem, I just can not seem to be able to fax from Word.

Do you have to have a dial-up modem/phone line to send a fax from your computer. I have optimum online from cablevision and Windows XP on my computer, can I still fax things from my computer?

I want to get rid of my fax machine as it was very expensive and rubbish! I have Windows XP and have the function ‘send fax’ via my PC but I get an error message saying ‘line busy’, do I need to have 2 phone lines? Or have I got something set up wrong? (I have Sky, the PC and my fax machine all plugged into the one socket with a double adapter) What am I doing wrong?

I have cd for it but I dont know what is the way to install it from cd .

I used to use my 56k modem to send fax with dial up internet. I am now using ADSL. I installed fax using windows xp. When I tried sending a fax, it comes up in the fax console Outbox but does not go through (does not appear in the Sentbox).
When I click the Receive now icon I get this message "There are no fax devices. Please install a modem that supports fax operations".
