What is the best way to fax from your pc? Good software etc.?
When I upgraded to Vista my hp laserjet 3030 all-in-one lost the capability to fax from pc or receive faxes to the pc. Im looking to buy a new device or explore other electronic options. Does anyone have any recommendations based on their own experience? I have a dedicated fax line and another device seems like the best bet. Thanks for your help.

We had a similar problem. Not sure how many faxes you send/receive, but we ended up using an online solution, Send2Fax.com. It’s great for organizing all your faxes that come and go, and as easy as sending email.
Good luck!
What you do depends on how many FAXs you send and/or receive. For me, it is not many. Therefore, I have a FAX modem. I open the document, click File, Print, and by clicking the down arrow next to the printer name, I select FAX. It’s that simple. (Of course, the FAX "printer" had to be "configured" like anything else.)
On my Dell PC, if a FAX fails for whatever reason, I have to remember to delete it from the FAX outbox before shutting down. If I don’t, the FAX will try to send as soon as I power on and freezes Windows from loading. It’s a pain, but after you make the mistake a time or two, you get the message and remember to delete unsuccessful FAXs.
If you send/receive a lot of FAXs, you may want to invest in a dedicated machine with it’s own telephone number.
