Where can I find a virtual fax for the PC that is free?
I have a fax number so that I can receive faxes to an email account, however I would like to be able to send also without having an actual fax machine in my home. Hey if it is free that is all the better. Faxing is such an outdated technology while .pdf is better. I already have conversions for .pdf files to word and vice versa. Some companies still like to receive faxes and I need help on this one. Please forgive me as I also have not had the time to do the research. I am hoping all my friends with ANSWERS will be able to come up with something useful. Thank you all so much.

You can try downloading a fax program from CNET.com, they usually have anything you could think of for programs and a good percentage of them are free! Hope it works out 4 you..
If you have a modem, then you already have a fax machine. Microsoft supply a simple fax sender/receiver with most of its OS. It’s just like having another printer which sends the fax data via the phone line to another fax receiver. Or you could try downloading something a little more beefier from http://www.download.com.
Visit http://www.download.com Search for FAX SOFTWARE. I am looking at a FREE package that is highly rated by the users called GlobalFax for Teleport Modems 2.6.8. Another called TTMessenger 2.22 . There are a few others that are FREE (not Free to Try).
Here is a thought. Email is very easy to loose among the SPAM. In fact, your email may be mistaken as SPAM and deleted. Telephone regulations heavily discourage SPAM FAXING, but sending a FAX is an "In Your Face" sort of technology. When you send to a FAX machine, your client will see it as a higher priority and act on it. So the FAX is not obsolete.
