Why can't I fax from my computer anymore?
After installing DSL, I can’t seem to send any faxes from my computer. When it dials, the error message shows: "No dial tone. The phone line is in use or not connected."
My phone line works fine, and I can manually dial out with no problem with DSL installed. I use Windows Xp Home Ed., 736 MB RAM,service pk 2, MSIE 7.0, Zonealarm firewall, Comodo antivirus program, etc. What do I need to do?

DSL doesn’t use a phone number, so your computer is trying to send the fax through the modem, but there is no phone line attached.
You will need to change your system settings to let your fax program know it needs to go over DSL, but I think you need a VOIP account to do that. Or you might be able to use the DSL modem for internet, and hook your modem port to a regular phone jack for faxing (just don’t use the phone while faxing).
