why does my laptop say install modem device on high definition audio bus every time i switch it on?
i have a toshiba l300d 11v laptop. i had windows vista on but changed it to windows xp. my sound crackles alot and when i switch it on it says modem device on high definition audio bus. what is wrong

Most likely, it is because there is a driver missing on your laptop, or you don’t have the correct audio driver loaded; you said yourself that it crackles. You may have to do a search for this driver; it’s possible that since your laptop came with vista, there may not be an xp driver for it.
